PBBM’s approval ratings drop, VP Sara’s remain stable; TESDA, AFP, DOT most approved and trusted gov’t agency

Pahayag First Quarter survey released to the public today shows that Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio’s approval ratings remain stable while President Bongbong Marcos Jr. ratings declined.

The PAHAYAG 2023 First Quarter poll was held between March 2 and 6, 2023, showed that President Bongbong Marcos Jr.’s performance as chief executive gained a 60% approval rating, down from 64% in the corresponding quarter last year.

The President’s trust ratings remain stable to 57%. Meanwhile, VP Sara Duterte-Carpio registered a 67% approval rating and a 63% trust rating.

Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri continues to have a steady approval rating of 47% and 38% trust rating. On the other hand, House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez had a stable approval rating of 42% and a 33% trust rating. Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo’s approval (39%) and trust (32%) ratings remains steady.

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) continues to receive the highest approval rating with 73%, followed by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) with 69% and the Department of Tourism with 68%.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (67%), the Department of Science and Technology (66%), Department of Education (65%), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (64%), and the Commission on Higher Education (63%), also received approval ratings of above sixty percent.
Meanwhile, TESDA is the most trustworthy institution with a 60% trust rating, followed by AFP at 60%. Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (55%), DepEd (54%), DOST (53%), DOT (52%), and DSWD (51%) enjoy a stable above fifty percent rating.
