PREDISPOSITION TOWARD THE 2019 SENATORIAL ELECTIONS

Fill up rate for senatorial elections in 2 previous elections

The poll found that half of the voters in Balance Luzon voted for 12 senators during the 2013 or 2016 senatorial elections, with 22% saying they voted for 8, and 12% said they voted for 6 names. Among a list of 45 names, those personalities who have held national government positions and those who have national prominence because of their profession registered high awareness in the poll.

Will they vote for re-electionists or other/new names/faces?

When asked whether they will vote for re-electionists or new names/faces 43% said they will vote for both re-electionists and new names/faces, while a third said they will vote for re-electionists and 17% said new names/faces, and 7% do not know or are not sure yet.

Respondents in this Luzon poll were presented with different scenarios or lists of personalities who might run in the 2019 senatorial elections. One is a list of re-electionist senators who might run again in 2019, and the other is a list of other/new names of personalities who might run for the Senate as well in 2019. A third is a list of both re-electionist and other/new names of personalities.

The re-electionist list was presented first, then the new list , and then the list of both re-electionist and new names of personalities.

Predisposition toward re-electionsts should these personalities run in the 2019 elections

From a list of 7 re-electionist names presented, the following personalities garnered the following predisposition scores: Poe (83%), Villar (60%), Binay (52%), Pimentel (49%), Angara (48%), Ejercito, JV (47%), and Aquino (36%).

Predisposition toward other/ new names/faces should these personalities run in the 2019 elections

From a list of 38 names of other/new names/faces presented, the voters said they like for the senate the following top 15 names, predisposition scores as follows: Dela Rosa , Bato (50%); Bautista, Herbert (45%); Cayetano, Pia (45%), Duterte-Carpio (41%); Estrada, Jinggoy (41%); Babao, Julius (40%); Marcos, Imee (37%); Aquino, Noynoy (33%); Roxas, Mar (32%); Tulfo, Mon (32%); Manicad, Jiggy (31%); Guingona, TG (30%); Aquino, Kris (28%); Aguilar, Freddie (26%); Domagoso, Isko Moreno (23%).

Effect of Endorsement of PRRD and VP Robredo of a candidate in the 2019 elections

When asked whether or not they will support a candidate by PRRD or by VP Robredo, 27% of voters said they will support a candidate endorsed by PRRD, while 17% said they will support a candidate endorsed by VP Robredo. If Mindanao carries a candidate, 51% of voters said they may/possibly support the candidate.
