Filipinos to travel more – Pahayag
Revenge travel is in the offing as summer seasons approach as seen in the results of Pahayag Quarter 1 (PQ1-23) survey. Most Filipinos (Table 1) are now ready to get moving again – 3 in 4 already feel safe to travel around the country, agree to easing border restrictions to welcome visitors, and confident PH tourism will go back to how it was pre-COVID.
Table 1
Across all demographics as shone in Table 2, Filipinos will be traveling this summer with seventy-one percent (71%) planning to travel between March to May 2023. Of those who have travel plans, 69% are traveling locally and 24% both locally and internationally.
Table 2
Meanwhile, 76% agree to ease the border restrictions of the country to welcome visitors, with Visayas and NCR supporting it the most. Only 11% disagree to ease border restriction, 8% do not feel safe traveling around the country and 29% do not plan to travel this summer.
PQ1-23 is an independent and non-commissioned survey conducted by PUBLiCUS Asia Inc. between 2-6 March 2023
It is a nationwide purposive sampling survey comprised of 1,500 respondents randomly drawn from the market research panel of over 200,000 Filipinos maintained by the Singapore office of PureSpectrum, a US-based panel marketplace with multinational presence. The sample was restricted to registered Filipino voters. Samples provided by PureSpectrum are not affiliated with any bias or political party. ###
