Pacquiao takes a beating in latest approval and trust ratings
July 27, 2021, PUBLiCUS Asia Inc has just released its second quarter poll, conducted from 13-19 July 2021. It is a nationwide purposive sampling survey comprised of 1,500 respondents drawn from a research panel of approximately 100,000 Filipino registered voters maintained by a Singapore-based firm.
Senator Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao got an overall approval rating of 37%, down from Pahayag Q1 result of 66%. Moreover, his disapproval rating surged from 12% to 35%. Senator Grace Poe garnered the highest performance rating at 50%, followed by Senator Gordon at 48% and Senator Go at 46%. At the bottom list, Senator Lapid, De Lima and Revilla with total disapproval ratings ranging from 37% to 65%.
Senator Pacquiao’s downtrend also showed in his trust rating now at only 25% from his Q1 result of 53%. Senator Christopher “Bong” Go takes the top spot in Q2 with a 36% “high trust” rating, up by 1% from Pahayag’s Q1 result. While Senators Lapid, De Lima and Revilla remain at the bottom list for least trusted with total low trust rating ranging from 46% to 71%.
The survey is an independent, non-commissioned, national poll covering nine modules: state of the economy and economic prospects, COVID vaccine prioritization and openness to safety protocols, national issues, scorecard for national leaders and institutions, emotional quotient of incumbent and prospective leaders, media consumption habits and responses to media campaigns, predisposition, blended learning, and new normal consumption habits.
