MANILA – PUBLiCUS Asia, Inc. (PAI) is proud to release online for public consumption the results of PAHAYAG VisMin 2019, an independent non-commissioned survey of 2,000 registered voters chosen at random among residents of the Visayas and Mindanao island groups.
The Executive Summary and accompanying charts of the results can be accessed here
After PAHAYAG Luzon in May 2018 and PAHAYAG NCR in November 2018, PAHAYAG VisMin is the third comprehensive public opinion poll conducted by PAI’s dedicated data science arm, VOX Opinion Research, to study in-depth the nuanced political beliefs and sentiments held by the residents of different island groups within the Philippines.
Respondents were asked questions to gauge their opinions and sentiments on the following key variables: Living Standards; The Country (State of the Nation); Love and Care of Leaders; Political Issues; Political Parties; Sources of News on Political and Current Events; Media Habits; Endearing Brands; Life in Visayas and Mindanao; and Predisposition for 2022 Elections.
The region-centric approach of PAHAYAG VisMin and the entire PAHAYAG series highlights PAI’s belief in the age-old adage: All politics is local. Visayas and Mindanao are often overlooked on the national scene, but the formidable political power of these island groups was flexed in 2016 when they catapulted Rodrigo Duterte to the presidency. Moving forward, it is critical to view the world of Philippine politics from the perspective of the 27.2 million registered voters who hail from Visayas and Mindanao.
As one of our company’s most important corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects, we hope that the results of PAHAYAG VisMin will empower public servants, civil society groups, activists, the media, and other critical actors in crafting well-researched and inclusive political advocacy and organization projects that will foster greater economic development and social progress in Visayas, Mindanao, and beyond.
Field work was conducted from November 15-19, 2019. The margin of error across the entire survey population is +/- 2.19%. The margin of error within the Visayas and Mindanao clusters, separately, is +/- 3.10%. These margins of error indicate that PAHAYAG VisMin is the most detailed and reliable public opinion survey for the covered geographical areas currently available to the public.
