PUBLiCUS Founder/CEO Shares Importance of Effective Narratives

Grasping the power of effective narratives is the way to go in the VUCA World (volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous).

This was one the topics highlighted by PUBLiCUS Asia, Inc.’s Founder/CEO Maria Lourdes N. Tiquia during the seminar-workshop organized by the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) centered on the Psycho Social-Cultural of Development and Security: Strategic Communications last June 4, 8, and 14. The event aims to further hone the executive leadership, management capability and competence of senior officers studying at the Graduate School of Public Development and Management in the context of institutional and sectoral development, innovation, modernization and responsiveness.

Tiquia, a noted policy analyst and political strategist, introduced the elements of crafting a powerful narrative anchored on human context, shared purpose, and brand DNA. Also introduced was the Communication Planning Process to give a better illustration on the advantages of strategic communication. Furthermore, Tiquia emphasized that Communication Planning is the “art and science of creating a road map that defines how one will get his/her message across to various audiences and achieve the desired end.”

The participants in the three batches were from the Philippine National Police, Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, and the Bureau of Fire Protection.
